This Week at Olive Loom!
🌟Welcoming a New Loomineer! This week we celebrated a new Loomineer from Syria! She and her daughter attend the Fayetteville Library’s Emerson classes to learn English. A local volunteer teacher introduced them to Olive Loom—and now, our newest Loomineer will begin by making our beautiful kitchen tea towels. We're so excited to have her join the team!
🎥 Lights, Camera, Loom!
Two University of Arkansas Journalism students spent several hours at Olive Loom this week. As we cut fabric and shared stories, they captured the heart of what we do. We’ve always loved welcoming students into our space—whether they’re learning or helping us tell our story. We can't wait to see the final project they put together!
🧵 Spotlight: Debbie & Gillian
Debbie, a retired architect and tech pro, joined Olive Loom three years ago during the height of the pandemic—helping us sew face masks when we needed them most. She now finds creativity and calm in the rhythm of sewing.

Gillian started with us doing basic alterations. Inspired by her time here, she pursued a degree in Apparel Studies from the UA. It's been a joy to watch her journey!

📏 Precision Meets Creativity
Just two weeks ago, an Industrial Engineering student came by to observe our production process. They watched the full creation of a soup koozie—from start to finish—timing every step. We love being a part of both creative and technical learning experiences!
